Hi Eadaoin, Im not sure if you are in Secondary or Primary school. Some secondary schools allow students to do work expierence a few weeks of the year in different business places. You could try arrange to do yours in a local vet practice perhaps! Most do grooming also.. You can also become a member of the LSPCA by printing off our membership form and then we can keep you updated on events and information throught the year Including our AGM which you would be very welcome to attend with a gaurdian. We are always loking for volounteers of all ages to help with our fundraising work. Along with all of that I highly recomend you study hard and if you are genuinely interested in working with animals keep focused. I do hope this was of some help to you Eadaoin.. Kind Regards, Lorraine.
Hi, I'm twelve and a half years old and I am just wondering is there anything I can do at the weekend. Anything really to do with dogs I would like maybe if I could help out in a groomer's just washing dogs or something like that maybe as I am very interested in becoming a dog groomer or a vet.
Only just discovered this site!! Delighted to see so many comments. I was however horrified to see the pictures of the cruelty cases and it still amazes me the lengths some humans go to disregard the feelings of animals!! Thank God for the LSPCA !!!
Hi All.. Thank you for taking the time to view our website And an even bigger Thank You to those of you that have and continue to help us in any way. Due to the large amount of scam's on the internet And to increase our Security, In order to post a comment you must first become a website member, This is very easy and fast and we Welcome all people with a genuine interest in Animal Welfare.. Thank You. Lorraine McEvoy.
I would like to congratulate you all for the fine work you do to help animals.I am an animal lover and was very upset to see the photos of the cruelty cases on your site.It is a pity we can't do to the humans what they did to the poor animals. I will be forwarding my annual subscription to you to try to help in some way. Kind regards Jane Murphy
Hi Emma If you are getting a puppy then it really does'nt matter what type of dog you get, you will just have to introduce it to your cat and get them used to each other. If you are getting a dog from a rescue centre then the people will let you know if the dog is cat friendly of not. Go onto the ispca website and see the dogs for rehoming from different counties, there is normally a description of the dogs personality as well as a picture of the dog. Then you can decide from there.
Hi Caoimhe thank you for contacting us and I am so delighted to hear that you care so much for animals. Any animals we have we always put them on our website under the rehoming section so you can always check on that. We dont often get small animals like hamsters but if we do I shall contact you. Is very good of your friends to help raise money for the ISPCA and the Laois SPCA as that is something we always need as our veterinary bills do mount up as well as the food bills. Keep up your good work. Catriona
Hi Catriona, my name is Caoimhe and I am living in Rathdowney. I am thirteen and I love animals more than anything. The one thing I want to do right now is rehome and rescue animals like dogs, cats, and hamsters! Right now my best friend and cousin are raising mone by making things to donate to the ISPCA and LSPCA. It would be great if you could contact me if their are any animals that need homes. I love to rehome a cat but we already have alot so if there is anything else that would be great. Thank you Caoimhe Deegan
